Eagle Ridge Mock Trial

Mock trial is an extracurricular program in which students compete in rehearsed trials against other high school teams to learn about the legal system in a competitive manner and to exercise critical thinking, rhetoric, and teamwork skills. Students act out a civil or criminal trial by arguing for either the prosecution or defense side against another team, which acts as the opposing side.

Our program is part of the Minnesota High School Mock Trial Program, which is sponsored by the Minnesota State Bar Association.

Our 2020-21 season will begin in October. We will probably start practicing in the first or second week of October, and the case we will be going to trial with all year will be released by the Bar Association in mid-October 2020. Once the case is available, we hope to start practicing after school twice a week.
